How should I fill and clean my cat’s litter box?
Clumping Litter:
- pour 8-10 cm of litter in the box
- clean daily by removing urine clumps and feces
- once a week, pour some additional litter, to replace the discarded one
- considering the quantity of cats you have and their use of the box, totally empty and clean once a month or every 45 days
- refill the box with some fresh litter
Traditional litter:
- pour 10-12 cm of litter in the box
- clean daily by removing the feces
- change the whole litter every week and thoroughly clean the box
Hygienic litter:
- pour 10-12 cm of litter in the box
- every day, remove the feces and stir the remaining litter with the scoop, to allow the litter to dry in-depth
PLEASE NOTE: By following these instructions, you will always have a clean and efficient litter box. And don’t forget that cats are very clean animals; a smelly and unhygienic litter box is highly repulsive for them.
CAUTION: thoroughly clean hands after handling soiled litter. Pregnant and nursing women, as well as immune deficient persons should be aware that a parasite sometime present in cat feces may cause toxoplasmosis. Please never throw litter in toilets or septic installations.
