Tips & tricks

In collaboration with Cat Educator, Intersand®’s cat experts would like to offer a few tips and tricks for new “parents” of cats, cat lovers and anyone who’s considering a feline addition to the family.

Are clumping litters harmful for my cat?

No, absolutely not! Clumping litters are made from pure clay. When urine gets in contact with the grains, they swell and bond together, helped in part also by the small dust contained in the bag, acting as “cement”. All this forms hard clumps of litter that can then be easy removed. A high quality litter will also be more economical; by absorbing more and faster any liquid, the clumps are firmer and smaller (so less soiled litter to throw away every time).
